Overnight Ratings: CBS' Farmers Insurance Open Down Without Tiger In Play

CBS had its first coverage of the ‘13-14 PGA Tour season with the final rounds of the Farmers Insurance Open over the weekend. The net earned a 2.3 overnight rating for yesterday’s final round, which saw Scott Stallings win the event. That figure is down sharply from a 3.7 overnight last year, when Tiger Woods won the event. Woods tied for 80th this year.

DOWN UNDER: ESPN earned a 0.6 overnight for Stanislas Wawrinka’s win over Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open on Sunday morning from 3:00-6:45am ET. That figure is up from a 0.5 overnight for Novak Djokovic’s win over Andy Murray last year. The event’s replay on ESPN2 on Sunday from 9:00am-2:00pm earned a 0.5 overnight. Meanwhile, ESPN earned a 0.5 overnight for Li Na’s win over Dominika Cibulkova in the women’s final on Saturday morning, flat compared to Victoria Azarenka’s win over Na last year. The women’s final replay on ESPN2 from 9:00-11:45am on Saturday earned a 0.5 overnight as well.

SUBWAY SERIES: NBC earned a 1.6 overnight for the Rangers-Devils Coors Light NHL Stadium Series game on Sunday. The game drew a 5.1 local rating in N.Y., marking the net’s best rating ever in the market for an NHL regular-season matchup.
