MLS FC Dallas named DAN HUNT President. Hunt will direct the club's business operations and will be part of the club's leadership team -- along with Technical Dir FERNANDO CLAVIJO and new head coach OSCAR PAREJA -- that reports to FC Dallas Chair CLARK HUNT, Dan's brother. Dan Hunt had been interim President of the club since the end of the '12 season (Christopher Botta, Staff Writer).
EXECS: Northlands President & CEO RICHARD ANDERSEN "has stepped down." The company, which operates Rexall Place, "will not play any role in the operation" of the new downtown Edmonton arena. Fresno State and football coach TIM DERUYTER have "agreed to terms on a new five-year contract through 2018 that will more than double his base salary," and with performance bonuses, will "make him the highest paid football coach in the Mountain West Conference." Sources said that the contract "guarantees DeRuyter an average" of $1.5M annually over the length of the deal and the "bonuses from his original contract remain intact." DeRuyter was "paid a base salary of $650,000 in his first two seasons and last year made close" to $1.4M (FRESNO BEE, 1/21).
