Former AFL Commissioner David Baker To Take Over As Pro Football HOF President

Baker was AFL Commissioner from '96-08
Former AFL Commissioner DAVID BAKER is returning to the football world as the sixth President & Exec Dir of the Pro Football HOF. Baker will be based at the HOF in Canton, Ohio, and will begin his new job on Monday. Baker succeeds STEPHEN PARRY, who is retiring after more than seven years. Baker said, "The mission statement is to honor the legends of the game, preserve the storied history of the game, and promote the values that have made football such a big part of American culture." Baker for the last four years has been a partner in Union Village, a giant healthcare project outside of Las Vegas. He was AFL Commissioner from '96-'08 (Terry Lefton, Editor-at-Large). In Las Vegas, Carri Greer Thevenot notes Baker and his wife, COLLEEN, are moving from Orange County, Calif., to Canton. However, Baker will "remain on the management committee for Union Village and will continue to play a role" in the Henderson, Nev., project's development (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 1/3).
