Page Turners: ESPN The Mag, Golf, Golf Digest Seeing Ad Revenue Up Through Q3

Several sports magazines are seeing strong print ad revenue increases through the third quarter of ’13, including ESPN The Magazine, Golf magazine, Golf Digest, and SI for Kids, according to data from the Publishers Information Bureau. Overall, in the print mag industry, ad revenue increased 4% in Q3 compared to the same period in ‘12, an improvement over the year-to-date 2% gain from January-September. SI continues to lead major sports mags with $410M in ad revenue through September, down slightly from the same period last year. SI For Kids leads in gains with a 22% increase, while ESPN The Mag is up 19%. Among those seeing sharp declines year-to-date are Golf World and Tennis, with both mags down 12% in ad revenue (PIB).
