Univ. Of Texas Appoints Seven-Member Search Committee For New AD

Univ. of Texas President Bill Powers yesterday "appointed a seven-member advisory committee that includes two current regents to assist in searching for and hiring" the successor to men's AD DeLoss Dodds, according to Kirk Bohls of the AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN. The committee members are: UT Board of Regents Vice Chair Steve Hicks and Board of Regents member Robert Stillwell, who are the board’s athletics liaisons; UT accounting professor Michael Clement, who is the faculty representative to the Men’s and Women’s Athletics Councils; former ExxonMobil VP & General Counsel Charles Matthews; former Board of Regents member Robert Rowling; Capital Royalty Chair Charles Tate; and former U.S. ambassador to Switzerland Pamela Willeford. The school last week hired Jed Hughes of Korn/Ferry Int'l to "assist in the search" (STATESMAN.com, 10/14). Powers said that he and the committee will "also seek guidance from alumni, regents, faculty and students." Although Dodds remains under contract until Aug. 31, 2014, Powers has said that he would "like to hire his replacement in the next couple of months" (AP, 10/14).
