Dodgers Sees 13% Increase In Attendance, Top MLB For First Time Since '09

The Dodgers averaged 46,216 fans per game during the '13 regular season, up 13% from last year and marking the first time the club has led MLB at the gate since '09. Also seeing strong gains were the Nationals (+9%), who had the club's best attendance since their inaugural season in '05. The Pirates were up around 8% at PNC Park and drew the club's best attendance figure since the venue's inaugural season in '01. Attendance at Great American Ball Park was up 7.5% for Reds games, with the average of 31,151 setting a record for the venue (opened in '03). Three NL clubs saw double-digit percentage drops at the gate. The Marlins' average of 19,584 was down 28.5% during the second season in a new ballpark. The team averaged 19,007 for its final season at Sun Life Stadium in '11. The Phillies (-15.5%) and Brewers (-11%) also saw sharp drops.
