The Heat promoted Assistant GM ANDY ELISBURG to GM, and he becomes “the first person to hold that title with the Heat since RANDY PFUND’s departure" in '08. Elisburg also retains his title of Senior VP. In addition, the Heat promoted assistant coach CHAD KAMMERER to Dir of NBA Scouting & Advance Scout. The club also added ADAM SIMON as Assistant GM, former NBAer TIM HARDAWAY as a scout and Community & Corporate Liaison and ERIC GLASS as Video Coordinator (South Florida SUN-SENTINEL, 9/29). Elisburg “has been with the Heat since the team’s 1988 inception.” He will continue reporting to President PAT RILEY and CEO NICK ARISON. In addition to his role as Assistant GM, Simon will also be GM for the NBA D-League Sioux Falls Skyforce affiliate. The team also named KEITH ASKINS Dir of College & Pro Scouting and RICH FERNANDO Exec Assistant to Coaches (AP, 9/28).

EXECS: MSG named former Sharks Exec VP/Business Development MICHAEL LEHR Senior VP/Team Sales. Lehr will handle strategic direction and execution of marketing partnerships for the Knicks, NHL Rangers and WNBA Liberty, as well as for signage opportunities throughout the arena (MSG)....The USGA will promote VP THOMAS O’TOOLE to President. O’Toole will get “a one-year term” in the role. He is “expected to formally take over when the organization holds its annual meeting in February” (ESPN.com, 9/27)....The WTA named Octagon Managing Dir of North Asia RYAN SANDILANDS to the newly created position of Regional CEO/Asia Pacific. Sandilands will be based out of a new WTA office in Singapore set to open in January (WTA)....The WWE named K&L Gates Partner LAURA BREVETTI Senior VP, General Counsel & Secretary, reporting directly to Chair & CEO VINCE MCMAHON (WWE)....Rogers Media is “combining the editorial teams” behind Sportsnet Magazine and its website, with magazine Editor STEVE MAICH “now in charge of both.” Maich will become Sportsnet.ca and Sportsnet Magazine Editor-in-Chief, as well as Publisher for the magazine (TORONTO STAR, 9/28)....Davey O’Brien Foundation Exec Dir DANIELLE MOORMAN “has resigned her position, effective Oct. 4” (STAR-TELEGRAM.com, 9/27).
