Names In The News

In New Jersey, Carmine Galasso profiles Breeders' Cup Senior VP & CMO DREW SHEINMAN, who ahead of this year's Nov. 1-2 races at Santa Anita Park "invited more than 40 'influencers' from the sports or marketing fields" to the Belmont Stakes. Sheinman said, "These are pretty sophisticated people, but the prerequisite, by design, was that they had to have not even been to a horse race. They came away, from phone calls and emails, saying this was the most fun experience they ever had. To which I told them, 'Wait till you get to the Breeders' Cup.' It was the eating, the drinking, the gambling, the fashion, the lifestyle, being taken to the paddock -- there's nothing like that rarefied air" (Bergen RECORD, 8/6).
