Reebok Introduces Cap With Motion Sensors That Measure Impacts To Athletes' Heads

Reebok's Checklight is designed for athletes of all ages and skill levels
Reebok on Thursday announced the launch of the "Reebok Checklight skullcap, billed as a first-of-its-kind sports activity indicator designed to measure impacts to athletes’ heads," according to Donna Goodison of the BOSTON HERALD. The Checklight is "designed for athletes of all ages and skill-levels, and for use in all helmeted and non-helmeted contact sports and activities." Reebok said that the cap helps "determine impact severity by measuring direct accelerations that an athlete’s head is experiencing in real-time." The skullcap is "designed with multiple motion sensors that help assess whether an athlete should continue to play following a blow to the head via a display of red and yellow LED lights that indicate the level of impact." The Reebok Checklight is "being sold at for $149.98 and select Dick’s Sporting Goods" (BOSTON HERALD, 7/26).
