Overnight Ratings: UEFA Champions League Final, MLB Primetime Down

Auto racing (Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600) and the NBA Playoffs were the primarily focus of sports TV over Memorial Day weekend. Fox also aired the UEFA Champions League final, which saw Bundesliga club Bayern Munich defeat rival Dortmund. The net earned a 1.0 overnight for the match, down 23% from a 1.3 rating for EPL club Chelsea's win over Bayern Munich last year. DC topped all markets for the telecast with a 2.3 local rating on Saturday afternoon. Fox also began its slate of MLB primetime telecasts. The net drew a 1.7 overnight for coverage that featured Cardinals-Dodgers in 32% of markets and Braves-Mets in 25%. The 1.7 overnight is down 26% from a 2.3 overnight for the comparable primetime slate last year. Meanwhile, ESPN earned a 1.0 overnight for Braves-Mets "Sunday Night Baseball," up 11% from Nationals-Braves during Memorial Day weekend last year.
