Overnight Ratings: NASCAR At Texas Down Slightly; Frozen Four Finale Draws 0.4

Overnight ratings for sports telecasts over the weekend were led by coverage of The Masters on CBS. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series had its first Saturday primetime race of the season, with Fox earning a 3.5 overnight for the NRA 500 from Texas Motor Speedway. That figure is down slightly from a 3.6 rating for the race last season. On Sunday, ABC earned a 2.5 overnight for Bulls-Heat, the net’s final NBA regular-season telecast of the season. The 2.5 rating was down 24% from a 3.3 for Heat-Knicks on Easter Sunday last year. Meanwhile, ESPN earned a 0.4 overnight for Yale’s win over Quinnipiac in the NCAA Hockey Championship. That figure is up from a 0.3 for Boston College's win over Ferris State last year. The net also earned a 1.8 overnight for the Orioles-Yankees “Sunday Night Baseball” telecast. The game earned an 8.4 local rating in Baltimore, marking a regular-season record for an ESPN MLB game in the market.
