Executive Transactions

Woodbine Entertainment Group has announced “more than 100 layoffs following a recent secret agreement" with the province of Ontario. Woodbine CEO NICK EAVES said that the layoffs, “about 25 per cent of salaried positions, were necessary after coming to terms on a confidential two-year deal for transitional funding -- aimed at softening the blow from the loss of the lucrative slots-at-racetracks program.” Consiglio noted the layoffs “include top-level” execs such as VP/Standardbred Racing BRUCE MURRAY and VP/Strategic Initiatives ANDREW MACDONALD. VP/Communications GLENN CROUTER, who served in that position for 15 years, “retired and accepted a part-time, two-year contract in place of his full-time gig” (THESTAR.com, 2/13).

EXECS: The Univ. of Arkansas named Razorback Foundation Exec Dir CHRIS WYRICK Vice Chancellor for Univ. Advancement (Arkansas)….USA Today named former Washington Post Online Sports Producer JIMMY HASCUP Digital Producer/Sports (THE DAILY).
