Overnight Ratings: ESPN Gets Big Number for Lakers-Clips; BBVA Compass Bowl Up

ESPN earned a 2.7 overnight for the Lakers-Clippers game on Friday night, marking the net's best regular-season NBA game rating since Knicks-Heat earned a 3.2 overnight in February '11. The net also earned a 1.7 overnight for the Bulls-Heat game in the early window Friday night. Meanwhile, ESPN aired two bowl games over the weekend. The BBVA Compass Bowl on Saturday afternoon earned a 2.0 overnight Nielsen rating, up from a 1.5 overnight for the SMU-Pitt matchup last year. The net earned a 1.2 overnight for the Arkansas State-Kent State GoDaddy.com Bowl last night, down from a 1.5 overnight for the Northern Illinois-Arkansas State matchup last year. NBC finished with a 1.3 overnight the U.S. Army All-American game, flat compared to the high school football all-star game last year. Fox also aired the first-ever live FA Cup telecast on U.S. broadcast TV on Saturday. The Manchester United-West Ham telecast drew a 0.6 overnight from 12:15-2:15pm ET.
