  • FBS Attendance: Michigan Sets Record Again; Tennessee Lowest Since Neyland Expansion

Michigan once again led all schools in average home attendance with an FBS-record 112,252 fans per game this season, according to data compiled by the NCAA. The top three schools in attendance remained unchanged, but Texas passed Penn State for fourth on the list. PSU averaged 96,730 fans per game, marking the school's lowest average since Beaver Stadium expanded in '01. Tennessee also saw a drop in the rankings this season, going from No. 6 to No. 8 as the school had its lowest average since Neyland Stadium expanded in '96. Other SEC schools also saw drops at the gate, with Florida having its lowest attendance since '04 and Auburn seeing its lowest attendance in 60 years. Meanwhile, Virginia Tech saw the end of its streak of home sellouts, which dated back to '98. The biggest gains among the top 25 schools in average attendance were USC and UCLA. The crosstown rivals saw gains of 18% and 21%, respectively. Missouri also saw a 9% jump during its first season in the SEC. Ranking at the bottom in attendance this season were Eastern Michigan (3,923) and Akron (9,275) (THE DAILY).
