Fenway Sports Group and the Red Sox "are in the planning process of another 'Frozen Fenway' event, with the target of playing more hockey games at Fenway Park next winter," according to the COLLEGE HOCKEY NEWS. Red Sox Exec VP & COO Sam Kennedy said, "We are deep into the planning phase for the possibility of a return of Frozen Fenway in 2014. We will need to secure proper city approvals and complete our negotiations with the many teams who are interested in competing before we will have any formal announcement." Fenway Park in '10, in combination with the NHL Winter Classic, "hosted its first Frozen Fenway series," featuring Boston Univ. and Boston College. New Hampshire and Northeastern also "played a women's game" as part of the '10 event. Last winter, Maine played UNH and UMass "squared off with Vermont."
