Overnight Ratings: ESPN Down Slightly For Galaxy's Second Straight MLS Cup Win

ESPN earned a 0.7 overnight Nielsen rating for the Galaxy-Dynamo MLS Cup on Saturday afternoon from 4:30-7:15pm ET. The game had head-to-head competition from CBS’ SEC Championship (10.0), regional college football on ABC (1.0) and the third round of golf’s World Challenge on NBC (1.1). The 0.7 overnight is down slightly from a 0.8 overnight last year, when the game aired on a Sunday night opposite “SNF” on NBC. Meanwhile, NBC earned a 1.0 overnight for the final round of the World Challenge, which saw Graeme McDowell win the event. Last year’s final round drew a 2.6 overnight for Tiger Woods’ victory. Woods finished tied for fourth this year.
