Overnight Ratings: CBS Scores With Texas A&M Upset Of Alabama On Saturday

CBS led all college football telecasts over the weekend with Texas A&M's upset of Alabama. The net earned a 6.6 overnight Nielsen rating for the Saturday afternoon matchup, marking the second-best overnight for any college football game on any net this season to date. The only game to score higher was CBS’ Alabama-LSU in primetime on Nov. 3 (7.0 rating). The Texas A&M-Alabama game peaked at a 9.8 rating from 7:00-7:15pm ET. Meanwhile, Oregon-Cal topped all games on cable TV over the weekend, with ESPN's late night Saturday telecast earning a 2.4 overnight. ESPN also earned a 2.4 overnight for the penultimate NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race yesterday, with the telecast from Phoenix down 8% from the same race last year.
