Nearly half of the 3,875 respondents in a recent nationwide survey conducted by Civic Science on behalf of SportsBusiness Daily/Journal said the NFL needs to do more to protect its players from concussions. Pittsburgh-based Civic Science operates real-time, in-market reader surveys for more than 350 news outlets, content, and social networks nationwide. Results of several questions varied by demographics. For example, income affected how people answered the comment: "They need to do somewhat more, so long as they don't make major changes to the game." Answers were also different by region. When asked, "How concerned are you about the problem of concussions in the NFL?," people in the South answered "Very concerned" much more than those in the Midwest.
