ESPN pledged $1M for the construction of the Boys & Girls Club and Family Center in Bristol, Conn. The pledge is on top of a $400,000 gift ESPN made in '09 for land acquisition. ESPN Exec Chair George Bodenheimer made the announcement today, saying it was in commemoration of ESPN's 33rd anniversary, which is Sept. 7. "The Boys and Girls Club and Family Center is a jewel in the fabric of our community and we are pleased to continue supporting its mission," Bodenheimer said via a press release. Bodenheimer is an honorary Chair of the Boys & Girls Club and Family Center's Capital Campaign and is an alumnus of a Boys & Girls Club.
