KING OF THE BEACH: In N.Y., Bernie Augustine writes Long Beach State Univ. "recently unveiled a new look at the Walter Pyramid arena, a face-lift to the home of the school’s men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball programs that includes palm trees painted onto the court’s surface."
