SI.com Managing Editor PAUL FITCHENBAUM has been promoted to a newly created position of Editorial Dir for the Time Inc. Sports Group. Fitchenbaum will work closely with Time Inc. Sports Group Editor TERRY MCDONELL and lead editorial operations for all digital platforms in the portfolio. Replacing Fitchenbaum in his prior spot will be MATT BEAN, formerly an editor and digital exec at Rodale Inc. since '04, and also an adjunct professor at NYU. Fitchenbaum has been with SI since '89 (Eric Fisher, SportsBusiness Journal).

EXECS: Columbia Sportswear Co. Exec VP/Global Sales & Marketing MICHAEL W. MCCORMICK is resigning, citing "personal reasons." CEO TIM BOYLE will take over McCormick's responsibilities on an interim basis. McCormick, who joined the company in '06, earned a salary of $510,000 in '11, part of a "total compensation package of $2.36 million" (OREGONLIVE.com, 8/15)....The Univ. of Miami named MICHAEL TURNER Events Dir (Miami)….Lees-McRae College named GENE RENFRO Compliance Dir (Lees-McRae)….Warner Pacific College named JAMIE JOSS AD (Warner Pacific)….High Point Univ. named MIKE TUTTLE Senior Associate AD/Facilities & Operations and JARED MICKLOS Assistant AD/Internal Operations. The school also promoted BRYAN WEIGEL to External Relations Dir (High Point)….Maritime College promoted LAURA MOONEY to Associate AD/Administration (Maritime).
