Eddie George, Joey Harrington Paired With Erin Andrews For Fox' College Football Studio Show

Fox' Erin Andrews will be paired with former NFLers Eddie George and Joey Harrington on the net's new "College Football Pregame Show," according to Michael Hiestand of USA TODAY. The show typically will air on Saturday nights at 7:30pm ET and serve as a lead-in to the net's "weekly prime-time game.” The show “also will begin airing Saturday afternoons when Fox adds afternoon games midseason.” When asked what separates Fox’ show “from the wall-to-wall Saturday college football TV talk already airing,” Andrews said, “We’ll have a young, fresh, hip take.” She added, “The one thing we’re excited about with this show is that a lot of football has been played by the time we get on-air. We’ll get everybody up to speed” (USA TODAY, 7/25).

PLANS FOR THE PAC-12
: In Arizona, Patrick Finley noted Pac-12 Enterprises President Gary Stevenson “detailed the plans” for the Pac-12 Network, which is set to launch Aug. 15. The net will show a “30-minute football season preview show for each team, and a 1-hour special for the league as a whole.” The “Pac-12 Football Encore” will showcase “the 10 best games from last year.” Also, a replay of all 79 conference games this year will air "in 60 minutes apiece.” The net will also feature “live pregame, postgame and halftime shows” from the S.F. studio, game recaps on Sunday nights and coaches shows on Tuesday nights (AZSTARNET.com, 7/24). Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott said, “I think we’re incredibly well-positioned” (L.A. TIMES, 7/25).

WELCOME ABOARD: ESPN's Scott Van Pelt has signed a multiyear extension to continue as a "SportsCenter" anchor and radio host, while adding several on-site "College GameDay" appearances throughout the football season. He also will be part of the net's BCS Championship Game coverage (ESPN).
