Shopko Signs On As Sponsor For Lambeau Field's New "South End" Area

The Packers yesterday announced Shopko "as sponsor of Lambeau Field’s new south gate," according to Richard Ryman of the GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE. The Shopko Gate will "provide access to 6,700 seats in the new section and its exterior will resemble the Atrium on the other side of the stadium." Packers VP/Sales & Marketing Tim Connolly said that the south end zone area, "which the Packers are calling 'The South End,' will be heavy with fan amenities." Connolly cited amenities such as "one concession stand per 75 fans, compared with the average of one-to-125 in new stadiums, and a similarly improved restroom-per-fan ratio." The section will feature "standard stadium seats, as opposed to benches without backs throughout much of Lambeau." Existing gate sponsors "include Miller Lite, Associated Bank, Mills Fleet Farm, Verizon Wireless and the Oneida Nation" (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 7/24).
