Wasserman Media Group Chair & CEO CASEY WASSERMAN has named longtime management group head and powerful agent ARN TELLEM Vice Chair, a role in which he will be more active advising on the global growth of all the sports marketing and media company's divisions. In his new position, Tellem will continue as an MLB and NBA agent and will oversee Wasserman’s team sports division, in addition to acting as strategic business counsel across all divisions. WMG's seven divisions are Global Media, Consulting, Partnership & Business Development, Team Sports, Golf, Soccer and Action Sports & Olympics. In addition, WMG also elevated NBA player agents THAD FOUCHER -- who represents this year’s No. 1 NBA Draft pick ANTHONY DAVIS -- and B.J. ARMSTRONG – who represents Bulls G DERRICK ROSE -- to the new position of Exec VP/Basketball. Wasserman’s basketball division represents 75 basketball players worldwide. JASON RANNE, former WMG team sports associate counsel, has also been promoted to the position of Senior VP/Operations of the Team Sports division and will oversee all operational and legal aspects of the group (Liz Mullen, SportsBusiness Journal).

OWL CITY: In Ft. Lauderdale, Dieter Kurtenbach notes PATRICK CHUN "was introduced" yesterday as Florida Atlantic Univ.'s new AD. Chun joins FAU "after 15 years in the athletic department of his alma mater, Ohio State University." He held six "different jobs at OSU, most recently working as the lead fundraiser for the program as a senior associate athletic director." Chun takes over for CRAIG ANGELOS, whose contract "was not renewed by the school in March" (South Florida SUN-SENTINEL, 7/3).

EXECS: NASCAR yesterday announced several additions to its Integrated Marketing Communications team, promoting JON SCHWARTZ to Senior Dir of Business & Brand Communications, while naming Edelman Worldwide VP SABRINA MACIAS Brand & Consumer Marketing Communications Dir and SI Associate Communications Dir CHRIS TROPEANO Senior Manager of Business Communications (NASCAR)....The U.S. Bowling Congress BOD has re-elected ANDREW CAIN as President, and TOM BLUTH as VP (USBC)....The NHL Panthers named BRYAN MCCABE Manager of Player Development (Panthers).
