Campbell Revives "Mama's Boys" NFL Campaign; New Era Releases MLB Spot

Campbell Soup Co. is reviving the “Mama’s Boys” campaign for its Chunky Soup brand. Campbell’s, an NFL sponsor since '98, shot creative yesterday and today with Giants WR Victor Cruz at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. From '02-08, the soup brand used NFLers, including Reggie White, John Elway, Terrell Davis, Donovan McNabb and Brian Urlacher in the effort, along with their moms, but dropped the campaign prior to the '08 season amidst slumping soup sales (Terry Lefton, SportsBusiness Journal).

NEW ERA UNVEILS LATEST SPOT: New Era released its third of four MLB-themed spots, which features comic actors Craig Robinson and Nick Offerman in a rather one-sided musical showdown. The series of ads was written and produced by Gifted Youth, a commercial production company formed by humor site Funny Or Die. The first spot debuted last month and garnered more than 100,000 viewers on FunnyOrDie.com. The site features the new ad prominently, with border and banner images directing users to the video (THE DAILY).

NBC Olympics’ Molly Solomon, ESPN’s P.K. Subban, the Masters and more

SBJ I Factor is a monthly podcast offering interviews with sports executives who have been recipients of one of the magazine’s awards.
