Wheels & Deals: Danica, Sega Partner For New Sonic The Hedgehog Game

Sega announced NASCAR driver Danica Patrick will appear in its video game "Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed." As part of the deal, Patrick will be a playable character with customized vehicles in the video game. In addition, Patrick’s No. 7 Chevrolet car will feature the Sonic the Hedgehog character during the NASCAR Nationwide Series O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge on Nov. 3 at Texas Motor Speedway. Patrick will also be integrated into the national marketing campaign for "Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed" (Sega).

NOT SO SPONSOR FRIENDLY: Phoenix Racing co-Owner James Finch yesterday in an interview on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio said his team’s partnership with driver Kurt Busch “will be on a race-by-race basis going forward.” The proclamation came on the heels of Busch receiving a suspension lasting through June 13. Finch: "It's affecting me. If I can't get a sponsor, I can't keep running without a sponsor. That's a slow death. I don't want to do that." He added, "If we can't get his mind right so we can race into the future, then I'll go do something else. It's just that simple” (SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, 6/5). ESPN.com’s David Newton wrote Finch “isn't so sure” Busch will “return immediately after serving the suspension, saying he will sit down with Busch over the next couple of days to see if they will move forward together.” Finch: "If he's going to kill himself I'm not going to be in the airplane with him. If that's what he's planning on doing, I am going to get out" (ESPN.com, 6/5).

ROAD SPECIALIST: Hendrickcars.com will be the primary sponsor on the FAS Lane Racing’s No. 32 car driven by Boris Said for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at The Glen at Watkins Glen Int'l this season (Hendrick Motorsports).
