Twenty-Percent Of Sports Fans Say Danica Increases Their Interest In Daytona 500
Published February 24, 2012
Twenty-percent of all sports fans said that Danica Patrick’s participation in Sunday’s Daytona 500 has increased their interest in the event, according to data from research firm Repucom collected earlier this month. That figure is higher among NASCAR fans (25%) and even higher among avid NASCAR fans (29%). Conversely, 18% of sports fans said that Patrick’s participation in the race has decreased their interest in the event. Again, that figure is higher for NASCAR fans (25%) and avid NASCAR fans (28%). Overall, 22% of sports fans said Patrick’s participation makes it more likely they will watch the race on TV, while 16% said they were less likely to watch (Repucom).
