OUT IN OAKLAND: The Raiders "have parted ways" with Senior Exec JOHN HERRERA, who "has served the organization as a spokesman and in a front office capacity for the better part of his adult life." A source said that the decision "was made on the business side of the Oakland operation." Herrera "joined the Raiders out of high school, hired by owner AL DAVIS" (OAKLAND TRIBUNE, 2/17). In Oakland, Jerry McDonald wrote, "Herrera showed up to work every day, even through times of immense personal tragedy, and backed his boss, Al Davis."
