Field & Stream: Super Bowl XLVI To Be Streamed On NFL.com, NBCSports.com

The Super Bowl will be streamed via the Internet for the first time next month, with broadband users having the option to watch the game on NFL.com or NBCSports.com. A formal announcement will be made this afternoon. Online users will be able to watch the NBC Sports feed of the game, in addition to extra camera angles, in-game highlights and live stats. It is not known if the Super Bowl ads will also be made available during the online telecast. Traditionally, networks sell different ads for their online product than they do for terrestrial TV. The game will be available via broadband and Verizon mobile. Rights do not extend to tablets, sources said. In addition to the Super Bowl, the NFL and NBC Sports plan to stream NBC's two wild card games and the NFL Pro Bowl, as well.
