Overnight Ratings: Tiger's Win At Chevron Earns 2.6; UNC-UK Basketball Earns 2.1

While the NFL and college football predictably dominated sports ratings over the weekend, golf and college basketball also made an December appearance. NBC earned a 2.6 overnight Nielsen rating for the final round of the Chevron World Challenge yesterday afternoon, which saw Tiger Woods win his first title in two years. The rating marks the second best overnight ever for the final round of the event, behind only the 2.7 last year, when Graeme McDowell beat out Woods for the victory. For comparison, the final round earned a 2.1overnight in '07, which the last time Woods won the event. Meanwhile, CBS earned a 2.1 overnight for the North Carolina-Kentucky men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon, up 23.5% from a 1.7 for the same matchup last year. ESPN earned a 1.8 overnight for the "BCS Countdown" show from 8:15-9:00pm ET last night, up 38.5% from a 1.3 overnight last year. The net's "College Football Bowl Special" from 9:00-11:00pm earned a 0.9 overnight, flat compared to '10.
