Univ. of Memphis AD R.C. JOHNSON yesterday said that he will "retire by the end of the fiscal year, meaning the end of June 2012." His contract, worth $316,725 annually, expires June 30, 2013 (Memphis COMMERCIAL APPEAL, 11/29)....The Orioles named GARY RAJSICH Amateur Scouting Dir, replacing JOE JORDAN, who left last month to become Phillies Dir of Player Development. Orioles Exec VP/Baseball Operations DAN DUQUETTE also announced that LEE MACPHAIL IV "would be removed from the pro scouting director's job but remain part of the department as a scout." MacPhail, the nephew of former President of Baseball Operations ANDY MACPHAIL, has been Orioles Pro Scouting Dir since October '07 (Baltimore SUN, 11/29).
