Poll: DC Sports Fans Have Favorable Opinion Of Capitals, Verizon Center

The Capitals enjoy the highest level of favorability among DC sports fans, according to a Washington Post poll conducted over the summer. A little more than half of the sports fans polled said they did not know enough to even have an opinion about MLS DC United. DC sports fans had a strongly unfavorable opinion of Redskins Owner Dan Snyder, while many had a favorable view of Wizards and Capitals Owner Ted Leonsis. Among DC-area sports venues, Verizon Center had the highest favorable mark. Listed below are select questions from the Washington Post poll related to DC sports fans opinions toward local teams, owners and venues. METHODOLOGY: The Washington Post poll was conducted online and by telephone from July 29-Aug. 29 among a random sample of 1,010 adult residents in the DC metro area, which was defined as DC, Charles, Prince George's and Montgomery counties in Maryland and Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Falls Church, Loudoun, Manassas City, Manassas Park City and Prince William County in Virginia.
