This Bud's Still For You: A-B Extends Deal As Official World Cup Beer To '18, '22

A-B InBev will continue its sponsorship as World Cup's official beer through '22
Anheuser-Busch InBev announced its sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup will extend to include the '18 and '22 World Cups. Budweiser will serve as the official beer for the events in Russia and Qatar. A-B InBev has global sponsorship rights for all editions of the World Cup and FIFA Confederations Cup up to and including the '22 tournament (A-B InBev). A-B InBev also announced that it will "have the right to sponsor local events with brands including Brahma in Brazil and Harbin in China." A-B InBev CMO Chris Burggraeve last month said that the company "wants to make Budweiser the world's 'first and only truly global brand.'" A-B InBev, which also owns beers including Beck's and Stella Artois, "started selling Bud in Russia last year and introduced it in Brazil this year." The company "didn't comment on how much it will spend on the sponsorship deal" (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 10/25).
