NBC is moving one of its ad sales execs to oversee NBC Sports Group's digital properties. It created a new position for NICK JOHNSON, who will be Senior VP/Digital Sales. Johnson will continue to report to NBCUniversal Exec VP/Digital Media Sales PETER NAYLOR. He will "dotted line report" into Senior VP/Sports & Olympic Sales SETH WINTER. Johnson will oversee ad sales for NBC Sports Group's digital properties, including NBCSports.com, NBCOlympics.com, GolfChannel.com and NHL.com (John Ourand, THE DAILY).

EXECS: Comcast SportsNet Chicago promoted PHIL BEDELLA to VP & GM, effective Oct. 1. Bedella will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the network (CSN Chicago)....Fox Networks Exec VP MICHAEL BIARD will be assuming additional responsibilities, but will keep the same title. The company has also hired STEVE CARCANO as Senior VP/National Accounts and KRIS NIELSEN-REFS as VP/Digital Distribution (Fox)....Kent State Univ. promoted Exec Associate AD TOM KLEINLEIN to Deputy AD (Kent State)….Old Dominion Univ. promoted DEBORAH POLCA and BRUCE STEWART to Senior Associate ADs, MARTY BRADLEY to Associate AD for Athletic Training & Sports Medicine, SANDRA NIEDERGALL to Associate AD for Compliance & Student Athlete Welfare and NICOLE TURNER to Assistant AD for Business & Finance. The school also named M.L. MORGAN Assistant Dir for Compliance (ODU)….The Univ. of Virginia hired ERIC BAUMGARTNER as Associate AD for Compliance (UVA).
