Longtime Nationals Exec Bob Wolfe Leaving The Organization

Nationals Exec VP BOB WOLFE, the team's "most experienced voice on the business side of their operation, is leaving the organization," according to Adam Kilgore of the WASHINGTON POST. Nationals Special Assistant to the GM for Major League Administration HAROLYN CARDOZO said, "More than anyone who's left, there will be a void that is felt." Wolfe has worked for the Nationals "since the franchise moved to Washington, serving for several years as the right-hand man to former president STAN KASTEN, whom he also worked with in Atlanta." Only two others in the organization "rank higher" than Wolfe -- Lerner Sports COO ALAN GOTTLIEB and Nationals COO ANDY FEFFER. Cardozo: "Bob was a link with the beginning. The numbers of staff who have been here since the team moved to Washington has dwindled to maybe a dozen" (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 9/23).
