Under Armour Unveils College Football Uniforms To Benefit Wounded Warrior Project

Under Armour yesterday announced that it has designed custom football uniforms for the Univ. of South Carolina, Texas Tech Univ. and Univ. of South Florida as part of the brand's continuing relationship with Wounded Warrior Project. This marks the third season UA has created head-to-toe uniforms to benefit WWP. This year's games -- Auburn-South Carolina on Oct. 1, Oklahoma State-Texas Tech on Nov. 12 and Miami-South Florida on Nov. 19 -- will highlight WWP's latest campaign, "Believe in Heroes." All three teams will replace the last names on their jerseys with words such as Duty, Honor, Courage, Commitment, Integrity, Country or Service, and will be led onto the field by selected wounded warrior honorary captains (Under Armour). The jerseys will be "auctioned off on each school's website on the Monday following each game," and the proceeds will go to the "Believe in Heroes" campaign. YAHOO SPORTS' Graham Watson wrote South Carolina's jerseys are "pretty sick and a nice rebound for Under Armour after what the company did to Maryland 's uniforms" (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 9/21). CBSSPORTS.com's Adam Jacobi wrote, "The camo hamstrings are an odd touch, but all in all it's not too radical a departure from South Carolina's usual digs" (CBSSPORTS.com, 9/21).
