Yankees, Mets Leading All MLB Clubs In Terms Of Average Radio Listeners

The Yankees and Mets lead all MLB teams in average listeners for games on their respective flagship radio stations through the midpoint of the '11 season, according to data from research firm Arbitron. The Yankees and Mets, however, are down 19.5% and 21.8%, respectively, compared to final radio audience figures from the '10 season. The Indians, Royals, Pirates and Giants are seeing the biggest year-over-year gains. New flagship stations for the '11 season also seem to be helping numbers for the Cardinals, Nationals, Rangers and Orioles. The Rangers are up 26% to date, despite having a few broadcasts bumped from KESN-FM to KSKY-AM due to conflicting Mavericks NBA Playoff games. Listed below are average radio listeners on MLB teams' flagship stations through the midpoint of the '11 season, with comparisons to the complete '10 and '09 seasons (THE DAILY).
