  • Leadoff Spot: Yankees Remain Most Popular MLB Team For Ninth Consecutive Year

The Yankees are once again the most popular team in MLB, a distinction they have held since '03, according to data from Harris Poll. The Red Sox and Braves rank second and third, respectively, with their positions unchanged from last year. The Cubs and Mets round out the top five. The Orioles saw the biggest jump in the rankings, up seven spots to No. 13, which is their best ranking since '07. Despite their World Series win, the Giants slipped seven spots to No. 14. The Brewers also saw a sharp drop, down eight spots to No. 19. Listed below is a trend showing the popularity of MLB teams over recent years. This year's poll was conducted online among 2,163 U.S. adults from June 13-20 (Harris Poll).
