Sports Execs Feel Labor Dispute Will Cost NBA Regular Season Games

Sports industry execs feel the NBA and its players will not sign a new labor deal in time to avoid disruption of the ’11-12 regular season, according to a Turnkey Sports poll conducted in May. Sixty-percent of execs polled feel that the league’s labor situation will disrupt next season, while 31% of execs feel a deal can be reached before any games are missed. Execs were also asked to describe how they would feel, as fans, when NBA play resumed following a scenario where games were missed due to a labor dispute. Forty-six percent of execs said they would feel somewhat disappointed, but would come back to follow the game when play resumed, while 16% of execs said they would be very disappointed and would likely not follow the league for at least 1-2 seasons (THE DAILY).
