Three Athletes Join Steve Nash As Endorsers, Partners In Liquid Nutrition Startup

Canada-based smoothie, food, vitamin and supplement store franchise Liquid Nutrition has announced the additions of Falcons QB Matt Ryan, golfer Suzann Pettersen and Australian Gold Medal-winning snowboarder Torah Bright as equity partners and endorsers. The athletes join Suns G Steve Nash and Yankees C Russell Martin, both of whom had been previously named as endorsers and partners in the company. An NHL player also will be announced by the end of June when the Stanley Cup Playoffs conclude. Liquid Nutrition plans to utilize the six athletes as it looks to grow. The announcements coincided with the public listing of Liquid Nutrition’s stock and the beginning of its franchising push, both of which are occurring today. Though Liquid Nutrition’s stores are currently concentrated in Montreal, the company is targeting 35 markets and has set plans to expand to L.A., Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. Liquid Nutrition Group President & CEO Glenn Young also cited a particular interest in expanding into the Southeast and Atlanta with Ryan's addition to the roster. The company plans to incorporate all of the athletes in its national and corporate marketing, and also will emphasize certain athletes in local markets based on their popularity and the particular sports in those places.
