Overnight Nielsen Ratings: Fox' MLB Coverage Scores Again In Primetime

TNT led all weekend sports overnight Nielsen ratings with last night's Bulls-Heat NBA Eastern Conference Finals Game Three. NBC scored the top rating on broadcast TV with the Preakness Stakes, but the rating was down from '10. The net's two NHL Stanley Cup Playoff telecasts also saw year-over-year declines. Fox scored again with its MLB primetime coverage on Saturday night, earning a season-high 3.4 overnight rating. Fox' two primetime MLB windows have now averaged a 3.2 overnight rating, up 14% from the comparable dates last year. ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball" did not see the same sort of success last night. The Cubs-Red Sox matchup earned a 1.9 overnight, down 30% from the comparable Yankees-Mets game last year. CBS saw gains for its coverage of the PGA Tour Crowne Plaza Invitational. The net earned a 2.1 overnight for Sunday's final round coverage, marking the event's best final round since '06 for David Toms' win. The rating is up 110% from a 1.0 overnight last year, when it aired during Memorial Day weekend. Saturday's PGA Tour coverage earned a 1.1 overnight, up from a 0.9. Listed below are overnight ratings from broadcast TV sports telecasts this past weekend.
