  • Blue Jays, Rangers, A's Up Big At The Gate, But AL Attendance Still Down

The Blue Jays, Rangers and A's are the only AL clubs seeing home attendance gains through May 10, and all three teams are seeing double-digit percentage growth during that time period. Blue Jays attendance is up nearly 46% through 16 home games at Rogers Centre, while the Rangers have seen attendance jump 35% in Arlington. A's attendance has also picked up at Overstock.com Coliseum, with the team's home gate up 14.5%. However, AL clubs overall are down 2.1% at the gate compared to the same period last year. Three teams -- the Orioles, Mariners and Rays -- are seeing double-digit percentage drops at the gate. Listed below is team-by-team attendance for the AL through May 10, with comparisons to the same period last year. See yesterday's issue of THE DAILY for figures from NL clubs (THE DAILY).
