NBC Looks To Build On Its Best Kentucky Derby Audience From Last Year

NBC will televise its 11th Kentucky Derby this Saturday, with the race segment of the telecast having held steady at a 9.8 rating over the last two years. Last year's 16.5 million viewers who tuned in for Super Saver's victory marked the best Kentucky Derby audience since ABC averaged 17.0 million viewers for Ferdinand's win in '86. Ratings for the Derby have not hit double digits since ABC earned a 10.1 rating for Unbridled's win in '90. Listed below is a ratings trend for NBC's coverage of the Kentucky Derby since it acquired rights to the event (THE DAILY).
