Overnight Nielsen Ratings: NBA On ABC Earns Strong Numbers During Final Weekend

CBS' weekend coverage of The Masters led all weekend sports in overnight ratings. Fox' NASCAR Sprint Cup Series coverage on Saturday night from Texas Motor Speedway earned a 3.7 overnight, up 9% from the comparable primetime telecast from Phoenix last year. Fox also earned a 3.0 overnight for its MLB regional coverage on Saturday afternoon, which featured Yankees-Red Sox in 84% of markets. That overnight is flat compared to the net's Week Two telecast last year. ABC's final weekend of NBA games also earned strong numbers. Bulls-Magic in the early window yesterday was up 33% from a 1.8 overnight for the comparable Magic-Cavaliers last year. The late NBA window featuring Celtics-Heat was up 60% from a 2.0 overnight for Trail Blazers-Lakers last year. NBC wrapped its regular-season NHL coverage with Red Wings-Blackhawks, which earned a 1.1 overnight. That figure is up from the net's comparable Bruins-Capitals regular-season finale last year, which earned a 0.9 overnight.
