What's Up For The Weekend With Lynx COO Conrad Smith

This week, we catch up with WNBA Minnesota Lynx COO CONRAD SMITH, who chatted with Staff Writer Theresa Manahan.

Q: What are your plans for this weekend?
Smith: Appearing on our local NBC affiliate, KARE 11, with our Lynx mascot, Prowl, to talk about Monday’s WNBA Draft, in which we have the #1 and #4 picks.

Q: What are you really looking forward to? Anything special planned?
Smith: Attending my daughter’s hospital volunteer recognition dinner and watching as much of The Masters as possible.

Q: What do you like to watch and read on the weekend?
Smith: Now that the collegiate basketball season is over, I will focus on the Twins and Red Sox, hopefully a new "SNL" and The Masters. I will also catch up on newspaper and magazine reading, as well as trying to finish two books, "LONE SURVIVOR" and "PONZI'S SCHEME."

Q: What workout routines or activities do you like to do on the weekend?
Smith: A fresh cup of coffee, reading the morning paper, followed by a trip to the health club for some cardio and weights and doing as many outside activities as possible.

Q: What is the one thing our readers would be most surprised you do on the weekend?
Smith: Working in the vegetable garden.

Q: Favorite local court to shoot hoops?
Smith: Lifetime Fitness or the hoop in our back yard.

Q: Best weekend ever?
Smith: Zip lining in Kauai, Hawaii.

Q: Favorite weekend getaway?
Smith: Visiting our son in Madison, Wisconsin, and watching a Badgers football game at Camp Randall.

Q: Favorite local restaurant?
Smith: The Mediterranean Cruise and Jensen’s Supper Club.

Q: What is your favorite local nightlife activity?
Smith: We have a great group of neighbors who get together for dinner, card playing (500) and outdoor gatherings.
