CBS' coverage of the Big Ten men's basketball championship yesterday featuring Ohio State-Penn State earned a 2.7 overnight rating, flat with the net's telecast of the Ohio State-Minnesota matchup last year. The net's Atlantic 10 championship telecast was also flat. CBS did see gains in the overnights for both the Conference USA title game and Pac-10 championship. ABC saw declines over the weekend for each of its telecasts. The net's SEC tournament semifinals on Saturday were both down from '10, while coverage on Sunday of the SEC championship was down 33%. ABC also saw a sharp drop for its NBA telecast, with Magic-Suns down 43% from Celtics-Cavaliers on the same weekend last year. NBC was up for Nick Watney's win at the WGC-Cadillac Championship yesterday, with the 2.4 overnight up 14% from last year's final round, which saw Ernie Els get the win. Golf Channel also got a boost from the tournament, with Thursday marking the most-viewed opening round ever at Doral.
