MLBAM Debuting Several New, Enhanced Products For Opening Day

MLBAM today released several new and enhanced digital products to coincide with Opening Day. New features to the MLB.com At Bat mobile application include detailed individual ballpark renderings for the GameDay feature in partnership with Sony, enhanced social media, video highlights and local check-in components in the At The Ballpark section, archived on-demand video from every game this season, and blackout-free live look-ins to every game. Enhancements to the app have been made for the iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry platforms. The app for the iPhone and iPad will additionally include a free trial of the MLB.TV out-of-market game package for the entire month of April. Meanwhile, MLB.com has implemented a redesign for the main league site as well as each individual team page. And the top prize for the Beat The Streak fantasy game, in which users pick a player to get a hit each day, has been raised from $3M to $5.6M. The new number is a direct nod to Baseball HOFer Joe DiMaggio, who after 60 years still holds the consecutive-game hit streak with 56. That number also has never been reached in 10 years of Beat The Streak play. The game carries a new presenting sponsorship from existing league partner Scotts.
