Turnstile Tracker: NBA Attendance Up Slightly From Last Season

The NBA through yesterday is averaging 17,262 fans per game this season, up 1% from the same time period last season. The Bulls lead the league in attendance, drawing an average of 21,726 fans per game and filling United Center to 103.9% of capacity. The Heat are seeing the largest jump at the gate, up 12.1% to 19,770. The Pistons are seeing the biggest decline, down 9.7% to 16,611. The Nets are drawing only 13,982 fans per game in their first season at Prudential Center, but that number is an 8.3% improvement over last season at Izod Center. The chart below lists team-by-team attendance for the Eastern Conference through yesterday, with comparisons to the same period a year ago.
