Three Non-NFL Markets Among Top 10 For Super Bowl XLV Local Ratings
Published February 8, 2011
Three non-NFL markets -- Columbus, Norfolk and Dayton -- finished among the top 10 in local Nielsen ratings for Fox' telecast of Super Bowl XLV on Sunday. Columbus was the highest-rated non-NFL market with a 56.2 local rating for the Packers-Steelers matchup, up from a 54.0 rating for the Saints-Colts telecast last year. The Packers' and Steelers' respective home markets of Milwaukee and Pittsburgh took the top spots this year, with each market earning a 59.7 local rating. Last year, New Orleans topped all markets for Super Bowl XLIV with a 56.3 local rating. Nashville once again scored high in the local ratings, finishing tied for fourth with a 54.2 local rating. Last year, Nashville ranked third overall with a 54.4 local rating. Despite being an NFL market, Miami-Ft. Lauderdale finished last among all metered markets with a 37.8 rating. Listed below are local ratings for each of the 56 Nielsen metered markets. Also see local ratings for each market from last year's game on CBS (THE DAILY).
