College Bowls Draw 1.8 Million Fans For 35 Games This Season

The '10-11 college bowl season drew 1.81 million fans to 35 games, up 2.3% from the total for 34 games last season and 3.1% from '08-09. The games averaged 51,732 fans, down 0.6% from an average of 52,055 last season. Four bowl games set a new attendance record this season: the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, Hyundai Sun Bowl, Insight Bowl and San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl. The Meineke Car Care Bowl and Beef 'O' Brady's St. Petersburg Bowl set all-time lows. Listed below is a five-year attendance trend for each college bowl game (THE DAILY).
